We recorded our 1960s Sonor Swinger Kit using the Tascam Portastudio 414 cassette recorder - with inputs pushed to the edge for that gritty saturation.
The snare? A Pearl Piccolo, tuned across several pitches. Hats? A mix of broken Meinl and rare handmade 12" hats - full of character.
Various tape speeds and cassette noise give the kit its unstable, nostalgic charm.
